About Untethered Press

At Untethered Press, we believe learning was never meant to feel confined. It was meant to be living, rich, and deeply connected to the world around us.

We are two former public school teachers—one with ten years in the classroom and the other with six—who now homeschool our own children. Through both traditional education and years of home education, we have seen firsthand what sparks true understanding: meaningful experiences, thoughtful conversation, and beautiful ideas that linger long after the lesson ends.

Untethered Press was born from our desire to create curriculum that moves beyond textbooks and checklists. Our resources are inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy and grounded in the use of living books, narration, and notebooking. We believe conceptual learning grows best when it is rooted in experience—not simply in reading about a subject, but in engaging with it fully.

Our units are designed to bring families together around the table and into the world beyond it. You will find hands-on learning meant to be done as a family, invitations to observe closely, and opportunities to slow down and truly see. Whether studying the prairie, the human body, or the beauty of great art, our hope is that each lesson sparks curiosity and makes ideas memorable.

We aim to cultivate not only knowledge, but appreciation—an awareness of the wonder woven into creation and the connections that bind it all together. When children encounter learning in this way, it fosters more than understanding. It nurtures a love for learning that lasts.

Untethered Press exists to help families experience education as something living and whole—untethered from busywork and rooted instead in beauty, depth, and shared discovery.

We are so glad you’re here.
